What a gravity live wallpaper is
Most animated wallpapers play a prerendered clip on repeat. Dunarium runs its actual sand simulation behind your launcher: the same grains, gel, and rising bubbles you play with in the app, driven live by your phone's tilt sensor. Hold the phone at an angle and the sand piles toward that edge. Set it level on a desk and the scene settles still.
The wallpaper animates on the lock screen too, so the sand greets you before you even unlock. It follows a palette, glass shape, and backdrop you choose, and you can repour it into a fresh landscape whenever the current one stops surprising you.

How to set it
- Open Dunarium and tap Set as wallpaper in the menu.
- The wallpaper studio opens with its own saved style, separate from your in-app scene. Pick a palette, glass, and backdrop just for the wallpaper.
- Apply, and Android shows its wallpaper preview. Confirm for the home screen, or for the home and lock screen together.
On the home screen, twist two fingers to turn the whole glass, and use the studio's Fresh pour button whenever you want a brand-new landscape.
What it costs your battery
A live wallpaper earns its place only if you forget it is running. Dunarium's wallpaper simulates sand only while you can see it: the moment the screen turns off, or an app covers the launcher, the simulation stops completely. There is no background work, no location use, and no network use.
Heavy tilt play costs about as much as playing the app itself. Idle sitting on your desk costs close to nothing, because a settled sandscape barely changes between frames.
Prefer a window? Picture-in-picture
The wallpaper lives behind your icons; picture-in-picture floats above them. Leave Dunarium mid-pour and the scene keeps flowing in a small floating window while you read, write, or browse. Start a Focus session first and the countdown rides along in the corner of the window, a quiet sand timer over whatever you are doing.
The round PiP button in the menu, next to Keep awake, turns this on or off. It ships on by default, and it is Android-only, like the wallpaper.
Common questions
- Does the live wallpaper work on iPhone?
- No. Apple does not allow third-party live wallpapers on the iOS home screen, so this feature is Android-only. The iPhone app has everything else: the full toy, the Moments, recording, and Portrait.
- Will a live wallpaper drain my battery?
- Dunarium's wallpaper pauses completely whenever the screen is off or another app covers it, so it only spends power while you are actually looking at it. A settled scene on a still desk costs close to nothing.
- Does it animate on the lock screen?
- Yes. The sand moves on the lock screen with the same tilt gravity, and sleeps the moment the screen does.
- Is the wallpaper a video loop?
- No. It is the app's real sand simulation rendering live behind your launcher. Tilt the phone and the grains respond immediately, which no looping video can do.
- Why can't I set it on my VIVO or iQOO phone?
- Some VIVO and iQOO models block third-party live wallpapers at the system level. Dunarium detects those devices and hides the option instead of offering a button that fails.
- Is the live wallpaper free?
- The feature is free, and every free-tier palette, glass, and backdrop works as a wallpaper. Unlock Everything, a one-time purchase, opens the rest of the collection for the wallpaper and the app alike.
- Can the wallpaper use a different style than the app?
- Yes. The wallpaper studio keeps its own saved style, so your home screen can wear a calm dark look while you play with something loud inside the app.
